           NATUROPATHY / NATUROPATH  INFORMATION

            (pronounced, “Nature-opp-pa-thee” and “Na-tur-o-path”)

 

Naturopathy is a distinct system of non-invasive healthcare and health assessment in which neither surgery nor drugs are used, dependence being placed only on education, counseling, naturopathic modalities and natural substances, including, the use of foods, food extracts, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, digestive aids, botanical substances, topical natural substances, homeopathic preparations, air, water, heat, cold, sound, light, the physical modalities of magnetic therapy, naturopathic non-manipulative bodywork and exercise to help stimulate and maintain the individual’s intrinsic self-healing processes.” Naturopaths help sort out your individual concerns.

 

Naturopaths DO:

 

  1. NO HARM – Naturopaths do not use drugs, pharmaceuticals or use surgery.

  2. RECOGNIZE THE HEALING POWER OF NATURE – Naturopaths understand the body’s innate capacity for self-healing. 

  3. FIND AND ELIMINATE THE CAUSE OF POOR HEALTH – Naturopaths help clients evaluate lifestyle choices to identify both the cause of the problem and how to correct it.

  4. TEACH HEALTH – Naturopaths teach clients how to achieve and maintain good health.  Naturopaths use considerable dialogue with you in sorting out your concerns and questions.

  5. HONOR THE TOTAL PERSON – Naturopaths understand that we are interconnected physical, mental, and spiritual beings and that one disease affects all areas of life.

  6. RESTORE BALANCE – Naturopaths seek to restore balance to all areas of our being.   

 

Naturopaths DON’T:

 

  1. DIAGNOSE DISEASE – Naturopaths perform evaluations and analyses to determine the root cause of problems, but they do not diagnose disease.

  2. TREAT DISEASE – Naturopaths focus on health, education and empowering clients to ask questions and make choices based on research-based and referenced educational materials.

  3. PRESCRIBE DRUGS AND PHARMACEUTICALS – Naturopaths teach about herbs, homeopathic remedies, and the healing properties of foods and supplements.

  4. PERFORM INVASIVE PROCEDURES – Depending on the type and extent of their training, naturopaths may use hands-on modalities such as reflexology or acupressure.  Naturopaths do not perform invasive procedures, give injections, or draw blood.
